Lifestyle, Nature and Discovery

Staying with us means choosing a pace that suits you. From taking in our unspoilt landscapes to experiencing the vibrancy of local life, the Drôme is yours to discover.

• History: Make the most of the immediate proximity to Crest and its famous tower, the tallest keep in France. Stroll through its medieval streets and let yourself be captivated by the history of a town that has stood the test of time.

• Nature: For a dose of adventure and fresh air, why not try a canoe trip down the River Drôme? It’s the best way to discover the valley’s flora and fauna as you drift along the water, in a wild and sun-drenched setting.

Whether you’re a fan of hiking in the Saou syncline or prefer sun-drenched café terraces, our gîte is the perfect retreat to savour every moment.

‘Lifestyle’: our favourites

• Early morning: A coffee on the terrace whilst listening to the birds waking and the water from the fountain in the village square.

• Afternoon: A swim in the clear waters of the Drôme, just a few minutes from the gîte, or lazing by the pool at the Domaine du Moulinage.

• In the evening: A glass of Clairette de Die whilst enjoying the sunset.

Relaxation & Serenity: Exclusive access to the Domaine du Moulinage

When you stay at our holiday cottage, you not only enjoy your own private comfort; you also have access to the grounds of the Domaine du Moulinage, a place where time seems to stand still, giving way to a sense of well-being.

The Pond
Immerse yourself in the tranquillity of our pond. Designed to blend harmoniously with the building’s architecture, it is the ideal spot for:

• Cool off after a day’s hike in the Saou Forest.
• Swim a few lengths in the morning amidst the absolute tranquillity of the valley.
• Relax by the water’s edge, lulled by the murmur of the surrounding nature.

The Terrace
A veritable vantage point overlooking the history of the site, the Estate’s terrace is open to our guests. It is a special place to:

• Share a moment of conviviality in a relaxing setting.
• Admire the architecture of the old silk mill whilst basking in the Drôme sunshine.
• Savour the moment, amidst the play of light and shade, with views of the La Clastre countryside.

A word from Marie-Andrée:
“We are keen to share the spirit of this historic place with you. The pond and the estate’s terrace are spaces where you can unwind, which we are delighted to make available to you to ensure your holiday is unforgettable.”

Get away from it all and explore: The Drôme in all its glory

A stay at the Domaine du Moulinage offers you exclusive access to the finest treasures of the southern Drôme. Whether you’re a lover of historic buildings, a keen walker or a connoisseur of the finer things in life, our valley is sure to charm you.

Heritage & History

• “La Tour de Crest”: Just 10 minutes away, admire the tallest keep in France (52m). A prison tower steeped in history offering exceptional views. For the more adventurous: abseiling is available in summer!

• Charming villages: Stroll through the narrow streets of Saillans, Mirmande or Dieulefit (famous for its pottery). Don’t miss Grignan Castle or the extraordinary Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval.

Wilderness and Hiking

• The Saou Forest: A listed site unique in the world, forming a ‘perched syncline’ protected by natural ramparts. Climb up to the Trois Becs for a breathtaking view.

• The Vercors & the Gervanne: Admire the Rocher du Vellan at Plan de Baix, a veritable ‘stone ship’ overlooking the valley.

• The coolness of the Gorges d’Omblèze: Discover the spectacular Chute de la Druise waterfall (72m high) and enjoy a refreshing swim at the foot of the cliffs.
